North Carolina's Future Is Now

The School Connectivity Program is the culmination of several years of vision surrounding the 21st century classroom, and developing a North Carolina workforce poised to meet the challenge of a global economy. Established through NC Senate Bill 1741, as recommended by the Business Education Technology Alliance chaired by Lt. Governor Bev Perdue, this initiative is being led by the Friday Institute, in coordination with partners from e-NC Authority, NC Dept. of Public Instruction, NC ITS, and MCNC. For 2006-07, the Connectivity Program is establishing proofs of concept that will inform the development of a highly reliable and cost controlled network that would link all LEAs and also spur economic development in underserved parts of the state.
